Districts 1 of 3 DONE!

February 23, 2020

Happy Sunday! We have started our postseason run. Please read so you can plan well for the next three weeks!

First, congrats to our 10 brave souls so endured six hours of floor debate on Saturday. Everyone rocked it and we will find out results in three weeks. ONE DOWN! TWO TO GO!

Second, our plan for the next several weeks is adjusted. ANYONE can come practice Monday, Wednesday, or Thursday this week. HOWEVER, please let me know in advance if you are planning to stay after and how long you will be here. I cannot do this Tuesday because of doctor appointments. It is not just up to captains to tell me, this is on each individual who wants to practice. Remember, you can reserve time specifically with me by filling out the PRACTICE form on the DISTRICTS page.

Third, DISTRICTS are HERE!

  • JUDGES are due Monday, Feb. 24th
    • You can see who has signed up for MSHSAA and NSDA on the districts page.
    • If a round is HIGHLIGHTED, DO NOT sign your judges up for that time. We need to fill all the time slots.
    • They will receive a confirmation email from me and the district committee.
    • If you do not...

MSHSAA Districts 2020

January 17, 2020

This information is for anyone who has been offered or is being extended a position at MSHSAA Districts on Friday & Saturday, March 6th & 7th at Ladue. Please read all the information carefully, note all dates, and reply as requested! Failure to meet these requirements will lead to a revocation of your spot.

First, please check your ENTRY and then READ THE RULES carefully for all of your events. If you have questions about any rules please ask ASAP! These rules are ENTIRELY SEPARATE from NSDA so make sure to know the difference.

Second, for interpers and orators, you need to make sure you have copies of your script. Oratory needs to have MLA in-text citations and a Works Cited Page as well as markings for all quoted words. Interpers need to have copies of ORIGINAL texts and need to clearly mark all parts that you have cut to prove that you are not adding any words to your performance. Debaters, remember to have ALL originals of evidence.

Third, here is the SCHEDULE for MSHSAA. Note that it is debate only on Friday. We will carpool both days so start thinking about how you will be transported.  Friday we...

NSDA Districts 2020

January 17, 2020

This information is for anyone who has been offered or is being extended a position at NSDA Districts for both Congressional Debate (2/22) or Speech & Debate District (3/12-3/14). Please read all the information carefully, note all dates, and reply as requested! Failure to meet these requirements will lead to a revocation of your spot.

FIRST, check the ENTRY. Note that there are two tabs - one for each separate tournament weekend. Please note that if you accept your spot, you are declaring that you are not only available for the tournament itself but ALSO the qualifying tournament (June 13-20). IF YOU NEED TO DROP, I need to know ASAP so we can fill an alternate. If you are interested in filling a spot for HI, DI, POI, or Duo, I need to know BEFORE 2/3. This would still require you to prepare the event.

IF YOU ARE DOUBLE or TRIPLE entered, you need to print out and fill out the SINGLE ENTRY form. Because you can only compete at the national tournament in one event but can enter districts in up to three (if you are doing congress) you must declare in advance which event you would compete...
